Summer is here and many families are looking for activities for their children. You can have fun, and teach life skills at the same time. Why not spend some time cooking and sewing with your children this summer?

To help you, The Future Christian Homemakers’ Handbook, online edition, is now available FREE! I have posted the entire Handbook in FCH Lessons. You may print the lessons and make copies for your children or the classes you teach. Please share a link to our site with your friends and tell them about this free resource.

It’s hard to believe that half of 2009 is nearly gone! Before you know it, Christmas will soon be here. Here’s a great gift idea: Print the FCH Lessons, put them in a 3-ring binder, and create a Homemaking Notebook for someone you love. Add your own family recipes, homemaking tips, and helpful suggestions from your own family life. What a treasured resource and wonderful gift you can create for very little money!

Also new on the website, is our Gingham Museum. I am posting information and photos of the gingham embroidered aprons and other items from my collection as time permits. Please check back often!

I am making an apron with the beautiful homespun fabric I bought from Jubilee Homespun. The gingham embroidery looks beautiful on the homespun. When it’s done, I’ll post a photo.

My husband and I are happy to be able to offer the Handbook lessons, free, online. We pray these will bless many families, especially during difficult economic times. Proceeds from the sale of our book, “Classic Prayers for Children” help us pay for some of the expenses to maintain this website.
