God's Love Never Fails!

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)

When I was a little girl, I had a Raggedy Ann doll.  She had a little red heart stamped on her fabric body, with the words, “I love you.”   Often I would untie her pinafore and lift up her dress to see if the “I love you” heart was still there.  It was!  That was always reassuring to me.

God loves us with an everlasting love that never fails.  We can look in His word and see that His heart is always beating for us with the same message: “I love you.”  His great love for us is always there.

Sometimes we may wonder, especially if we’ve done something wrong, “Does He still love me?”  Yes, He does.  His compassions never fail!  Though we may fail Him, He is faithful and His love is everlasting.

Romans 5:8 tells us that He loves us while we were yet sinners, and He died for us.  What greater demonstration of love can there be?  Even when I did not love Him; even then He still loved me.

We don’t need to look at a little doll to find out we are loved.  We can look in God’s word.  Throughout the Bible, God’s message is the same:  “I love you.  I love you.”  The Lord does not change, and His love does not fail.

Read more Bible verses about God’s love.  Here are a few to get you started:

John 3:16, Romans 8:38-39, Jeremiah 31:3, I John 3:16, I John 4:9-11,
I John 4:18-19.

Use a concordance to look up more verses on God’s love.  Write each one on a separate piece of paper and share one each night at the dinner table.
