We scan the original fabric bookmark, add stitching directions on the back, and then laminate them. A shimmering, organdy ribbon tops off each bookmark.

These bookmarks are excellent stitching projects for beginners! With just a few simple stitches on inexpensive gingham fabric, you can create your own fabric bookmarks or use these designs on larger projects. Besides the directions on the back of each bookmark, we've posted more gingham embroidery information on this site. See below. I've taught gingham embroidery to the girls in my Future Christian Homemakers' group. It's easy and fun! Even younger girls can learn to stitch an X in the checks on the fabric. This is a good precursor to cross stitch, too. No counting is necessary for these basic projects and it is much easier to see your work, especially if you use ¼" gingham checks. Older ladies, or those with vision problems, will also enjoy being able to see the larger stitches.

Get each bookmark and use them to mark different places in your Bible: one color for the Psalms, another for Proverbs, the OT, NT...

Whether you want to learn these stitches, or just want unique, pretty bookmarks, you'll want to collect them all! Each one is 2" x 6" and weighs just ¼ oz. They make lovely little gifts. Add them to a card or letter for a special touch.
